What size is a passport photo?
It depends on the country. US passport photos are 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm). Most other countries — including the UK, Australia, India, and the Schengen area — use 35 x 45 mm. Canada uses 50 x 70 mm. Our tool has presets for each country so the size is always correct.
Is this passport size photo maker free?

Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The entire editor — including background removal — runs inside your browser on your own device. Your photo is never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere, which makes it private and fast.
Can I take my own passport photo at home?
Yes. Most countries accept a self-taken passport photo as long as it meets the requirements: a plain background, even lighting, a neutral expression, and the correct head size and crop. Take the photo against a plain wall in good daylight, then use this tool to crop it to the official size and clean up the background.
Can you smile in a passport photo?
A natural smile with your mouth closed is accepted by the US. Many other countries (UK, Schengen, Australia) require a neutral expression with your mouth closed. When in doubt, keep a relaxed, neutral expression with both eyes open.
Can you wear glasses in a passport photo?
The US no longer allows glasses in passport photos (a rule since November 2016). Other countries allow prescription glasses only if your eyes are clearly visible with no glare, tint, or thick frames covering the eyes. The safest option is to remove your glasses.
How do I print a passport photo at home?
Use the "Print Sheet" option to arrange multiple copies of your photo on a standard 4 x 6 inch or A4 sheet, download it, and print it on photo paper at 300 DPI — or take the file to any pharmacy or print shop. Then cut along the guides.
What background color should a passport photo have?
